During the month of September, I read a total of 6 books... and 3 of them were rereads.
I read an ARC of Glitter by Aprilynne Pike, which comes out October 25. And it was AMAZING!!! I can't wait for you all to read it. It's the premise of this book that makes it so phenomenal. It's modern day (the future, actually) but there is a society of people living in the Versailles palace, and they live, eat, talk, dress and act like it's the seventeenth century (with the exception of technology). So basically, everywhere else, modern day. Within the gates of Versailles, eighteenth century. The main character Dani's mother has blackmailed the king into marrying Dani. Dani is determined to not marry the king, and she plans on selling the drug Glitter to raise the funds needed to escape.
I re-read The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee, this time as a hardcover copy (it's gorgeous!!!). I talk about how much I love this book here.
I also re-read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, which really needs no explanation. This time I read the illustrated edition, which is absolutely beautiful!
Because the movie came out in September, I chose to re-read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs just to freshen my mind on the events that happened. I never finished Hollow City and I never read Library of Souls, so I plan on reading them both next month. I really, really liked this book, but I must say, in my opinion, it is not as good as Jessethereader claims.
I also read Tales of the Peculiar, also by Ransom Riggs, which is a collection of short stories that take place in the peculiar world. And they were fantastic.
... And I read Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi. This is Tahereh Mafi's first middle grade novel, and I was honored to be a part of the Furthermore blog tour. You can read all about it here. I personally gave this book 4/5 stars.
And these are the books I read in the month of September. Tell me in the comments below what you read in September!
